Top 5 dog walks in and around Merseyside

Autumn has started, why not make the most of the milder weather by getting out and about on your pawstep? Here are some great dog walks to enjoy with your pooch in and around Merseyside.

Sefton Park

Sefton Park is a well known and much-loved park by locals thanks to its beautiful winding paths and interesting points making it a great spot for dog walkers. There are plenty of wildlife about the park, so if your dog likes to chase a squirrel or two, it’s best to keep them on the lead.

Delamere Forest

Delamere Forest in Cheshire, only a short drive away from Merseyside and its surroundings, offers easy waymarked walks to suit all abilities. It’s a shady oasis for any walker and with plenty of roads and trails to choose from you could take a different one on each visit!

Formby Beach

Formby Beach offers a long stretch of sand backed by extensive dunes, a perfect location for anyone looking for some sea air. The surrounding coastal pinewoods are waiting to be explored by dogs and their owners alike, providing different options for a perfect dog walk on your pawstep.

Crosby Beach

Another sandy location, you’ll be able to enjoy views across to the Wirral and even be able to spot a few North Wales hills at Crosby Beach. This beach always looks busier than it actually is, with over 100 cast-iron figures that stretch the coastline and almost a mile out to sea. While some dogs mark these iron men as their territory, others drop a ball at their feet and wait patiently for it to be thrown. What will your dog do down at Crosby Beach?

Royden Park

Royden Park is in Frankby, Wirral, and is the perfect place to explore with your pooch. Take some change for parking, hop out, pop your dog on a lead and head on an adventure through their woodlands or meadows. They have a rideable miniature railway, too, making it a good place to take kids (or train enthusiasts).
